For patients considering having Profhilo® who are interested in what happens before and after the treatment and want to see one or more Profhilo® before and after picture.
We produced this handy guide on what to expect before and after and some tips to help you get the most from your treatment.
1, Do the research on the clinic providing the Profhilo®. Look for reviews, age of the clinic, look up the name of the practitioner and check for qualifications
2, Ask about any risks associated. This goes for any treatment you discuss.
3, If the practitioner has not asked you in fair detail about your medical history before starting Profhilo® or any treatment, good advice is to go elsewhere.
4, Discuss the level of discomfort you may experience.
5, Make sure the costs have been fully discussed.
6, Patients having Profhilo® for the first time will almost always be recommended to have a follow up session four weeks later. This should be explained to you.
7, If you are offered alternative treatments because of suitability issues with Profhilo®, find out the reasons why.
Some patients see positive effects after just a week or two but it’s usually 4 weeks before results start to become noticeable. The effects will continue to build for some weeks after the treatment as collagen and elastin continues to be stimulated.
1, After the appointment you should either have been given an aftercare sheet or one should have been emailed to you. If you have not, ask for one.
2, Avoid the medications as listed above in point 2 for at least a week following the treatment, to reduce bruising.
3, Avoid alcohol for at least a day or two after your appointment. For maximum results abstain for 7 days.
4, Make-up should not be worn for 12 hours after the treatment
5, Do not partake in strenuous exercise for at least 48 hours after the treatment
6, Avoid sunbathing and extreme heat or cold environments for 7 days after having ProfHilo, saunas are an example of this.
7, You may see some small lumps after the treatment. These will settle and disappear within 24 hours.
8, Do not have any chemical peels, skin needling, IPL, laser treatments, facials, or waxing for 2 weeks following the Profhilo® treatment. Most facial treatments are unadvisable.
9, If you develop any form of pain after the procedure please contact the clinic where you had the treatment as soon as possible.
