Fat Transfer in London

Fat grafting, a specialised cosmetic procedure, is designed to restore volume, enhance collagen and elastin levels, reduce sagging, and rejuvenate skin, particularly on the face and neck. This procedure is classified as minimally invasive.

The Ultimate Facial Rejuvenation Treatment

Stem cells are the main nuclear cells in the body and can be transformed into specific cells such as collagen fibres, muscle cells, bone cells and skin cells when required in the body. The more advanced version of fat transfer surgery involves removing the fat and adding another step to the process.

The removed body fat is carefully processed and filtered through a closed, sterile device to allow regenerative cells to be used for face fat transfer and facial rejuvenation. This version of fat transfer surgery ultimately aims to regenerate facial tissue, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

Anti-ageing properties of fat transfer

The ageing process is complex and mainly involves volume loss and sagging. Patients tend to lose fat from the facial area. If you want the best anti-ageing treatment, it will aim to target both skin volume loss and sagging.

Bulking agents such as dermal fillers and toxins such as Botox have their limitations, and lasers and other mechanical systems are ineffective at improving both volume loss and sagging and are not as long-lived.

Adipose tissue rich in regenerative cells.

The mesenchymal stem cell resides primarily in cartilage, bone, and adipose tissue in adults. Therefore, your adipose tissue can be an excellent source of regenerative cells that can be used to regenerate damaged cells in specific areas. Stem cell-rich fat is one of the best injectable substances to correct volume loss and improve sagging while rejuvenating and repairing cells from the inside out.

The Lipocube Method

Lipocube is a UK-based medical device manufacturer. The single-use sterile device they provide us at the clinic allows for processing the removed fat tissue. The fat transfer process then follows using the processed fat cells. The Lipocube system is known for its non-invasive fat reduction capabilities, specifically targeting and eliminating excess fat cells from specific areas of the body.

Transferring fat from one bodily area to another, also called fat grafting surgery or fat graft injection, enhances volume and contour by transferring fat. Usually, fat cells are harvested from a donor site by liposuction and carefully injected into the desired area, such as the breasts, bum, or face.

Cryolipolysis and Ultrasound Technology

Lipocube uses cryolipolysis and ultrasound technology to reduce fat cells to a more transferable state but doesn’t provide the necessary components or functionality to process and inject transferred fat cells. For fat transfer cells to survive and integrate, specialised equipment, techniques, and expert fat transfer surgeons are required.

Benefits of Fat Transfer

Fat grafting, non-surgical fat transfer, or autologous fat grafting, is a procedure in which your own fat cells are harvested from one body area and injected into another area to enhance volume or contour. Here are some benefits of non-surgical fat transfers.

  1. Minimally Invasive: Non-surgical fat grafting is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require incisions or general anaesthesia. Instead, it is typically performed using local anaesthesia and/or mild sedation. This means there is less risk, reduced scarring, and a faster recovery than surgical alternatives.
  2.  Results: Using the patient’s fat cells, non-surgical fat grafting can provide natural-looking results. The transferred fat integrates with the surrounding tissues, creating a more harmonious and authentic appearance. This is particularly beneficial for procedures correcting lost volume, such as breast augmentation, facial rejuvenation, or buttock enhancement.
  3. Double Benefits: Non-surgical fat grafting has a dual benefit: It removes unwanted fat or excess fat in one area and will restore volume in another. The donor site, often an area of unwanted fat deposits, can be contoured and slimmed down by liposuction to improve the recipient area’s shape, fullness, or symmetry.
  4. Low Risk: Non-surgical fat grafting carries fewer risks and complications than surgical procedures. The absence of large incisions lowers the chance of infection, bleeding, and other surgical complications. Additionally, since the patient’s own fat is used, there is a reduced risk of allergic reactions or rejection.
  5. Versatility: Non-surgical fat grafting can be applied to various body areas, including the chest, buttocks, face, hands, and other areas that may benefit from improved volume and contour. Individualised treatments can suit an individual’s specific needs and aesthetic goals.

The Fat Transfer Process

Fat transfer and grafting are performed under local anaesthetic.

A local anaesthetic is injected into the face. Fat is removed (usually from the thigh area) using a syringe and a small cannula.

The fat is then filtered to separate blood and fat cells. It is then injected to increase volume in specific areas such as cheeks, jawline, temples and chin to restore natural facial volume.

Since only cells collected from your own body are used, there is no risk of allergic reactions, and the results are natural and beautiful.

Skin Rejuvenation

If you also want skin rejuvenation, the fat obtained is micro-filtered through a special filter system called a NanoCube or LipoCube, to obtain stem cell-rich micro-fat and nano-fat, which is then injected into the skin’s surface.

It can rejuvenate the skin, rejuvenate dark circles under the eyes, and improve the skin on the face, neck, and any body part. The surgeon’s skill will dictate the amount of fat removal and the amount of fat transfer, as too much fat or too little will not give the optimum results.

The fat-harvesting process

Fat transfer involves removing or harvesting the fat through a small incision on the side of the thigh. The incision sites are subsequently closed with sterile adhesive strips.

An elastic bandage may be applied for several days, depending on your lifestyle. The injection site on the face and neck may be bruised and swollen for up to 2-3 days, after which it heals well.

Patients can go home after surgery but cannot shower for two days. The healing and scarring process is usually very good with these types of treatments.

Cost of Fat Transfer (Lipocube)

The final price varies based on individual needs, the extent of the procedure, and any additional treatments required.
