Alma ClearSkin laser treats common signs of acne, including acne lesions, blackheads, open pores, and oily skin.

The Harmony XL Pro laser treatment uses a pixilated skin resurfacing laser to separate light into numerous fractions that penetrate deeply into the skin’s dermis. This means that the skin is rejuvenated below the surface, which in turn means the client endures zero damage to the skin’s surface layer. No redness, no marks – in fact, there’s nothing visible that could suggest you’d had a treatment!

The ClearSkin laser treatment is a revolutionary new method for treating acne vulgaris. It works by causing thermal damage to the sebaceous glands, reducing sebum production and destroying the bacteria responsible for acne.

The treatment is suitable for all skin types, has almost no side effects and achieves a smoother complexion with lasting results.

What is ClearSkin Treatment?

ClearSkin Treatment offers a revolutionary approach to skincare, utilising advanced laser technology to improve the skin’s overall appearance. It works by targeting the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting a healthier, more youthful complexion. The treatment is versatile and effective on various skin types and conditions, such as acne, pigmentation, and visible signs of ageing.

Benefits of ClearSkin

ClearSkin Treatment offers numerous skin benefits. It significantly reduces blemishes and imperfections, resulting in clearer, smoother skin. Increased collagen production leads to improved skin elasticity and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. An added advantage is that the treatment is non-invasive, ensuring a comfortable skincare experience.

Are There Any Side Effects of ClearSkin Treatment?

While ClearSkin Treatment is generally safe, minor side effects such as redness, swelling, or temporary skin sensitivity may occur post-treatment. These effects are temporary and typically subside within a few hours to a couple of days.

How does it work?

Energy is transformed to heat and triggers immune response and inflammatory reaction in the dermis. Healthy tissue will be generated and Dermis will promote ECM renewal (neo-collagenesis & elastin formation). The integrated vacuum mechanism extracts accumulated sebaceous material from the pores, while contact cooling protects the skin, reducing pain and allowing for safer and more effective treatment of the sebaceous glands within the dermis.

Our ClearSkin Treatment Process at Derma Revive Skin Clinic

Initial Consultation and Skin Assessment

Every ClearSkin Treatment journey at Derma Revive Skin Clinic begins with an initial consultation. Our skincare experts will assess your skin type and condition, understanding your specific concerns and skincare goals.

Customised ClearSkin Treatment Plan

Post-consultation, we devise a customised ClearSkin treatment plan tailored to your exact skincare needs. This plan includes the specifics of the treatment, such as the number of sessions required and the intensity of the laser used.

Post-treatment Care and Maintenance

At Derma Revive Skin Clinic, we believe in holistic care. After your treatment, we provide guidance on post-treatment care and maintenance, which includes skincare routines and lifestyle recommendations to maximise your treatment results.

Is ClearSkin Treatment Painful?

ClearSkin Treatment is non-invasive and generally well-tolerated. While some individuals may experience mild discomfort during the procedure, it’s often described as a warm, tingling sensation rather than pain.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does non-ablative fractional laser treatment work?

The erbium glass-fibre laser system produces an array of microscopic light beams that selectively target and heat the problem or damaged area in the skin. It can be precisely controlled to create a series of tiny, pixel-sized or ‘fractional’ perforations in the skin within the treatment zone.

The laser effectively rebuilds or replaces ‘columns’ of skin tissue and leaves the surrounding tissue intact.
As a non-ablative laser it uses a wavelength that heats up the water in the tissue but does not cause it to evaporate (ablate).

The result is smoother, clearer and more youthful-looking skin.

What happens during the treatment?

Before we start the treatment programme, in the first session we will perform a skin test on the treatment area, to make sure your skin is suitable for the procedure.

During the procedure, we apply the laser hand-piece to your skin, passing it across the treatment area several times in different directions to make sure the whole area is covered evenly.

Because the rays of the fractional laser heat your skin, we can apply a topical anaesthetic cream to the treatment area if you need it.

However, the ClearSkin Er:Glass has an integrated contact cooling system, to further minimise discomfort.

Side effects and downtime

As this laser treatment does not cause tissue evaporation or ablation, it avoids the side effects and downtime associated with other (especially ablative) laser procedures.

The fractional method of delivering the laser energy leaves the surrounding tissue intact. This helps speed up healing and recovery, and reduces the likelihood of side effects or downtime.

However, you may have some mild redness or swelling in the treated area, which can last for a few hours but can be covered with makeup if needed.

Treatment schedule and results

For acne, acne scarring and other skin conditions, we recommend a series of 4 to 6 treatments sessions.
Treatments should be spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart, and every 6 months during the maintenance period.
