Choosing The Right Peel for You

Choosing the right peel will depend on the condition you want to treat, your skin’s health, and the experience of the clinic providing advice and guidance.

Getting it right can significantly improve your skin’s health and appearance. Below are the peels available at Derma Revive, their suitability for specific skin concerns, the active ingredients they contain, and how to prepare and care for your skin pre- and post-treatment.

Chemical Peels Overview

Chemical peels use a solution applied to the face to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the growth of new cells. This process can address multiple skin issues like acne, hyperpigmentation, and ageing signs.

The Active Ingredients in Our Chemical Peels and Their Benefits

Our selection of chemical peels is designed to cater to a wide range of skin concerns, thanks to each formulation’s carefully chosen active ingredients. Understanding these ingredients and their actions can help you appreciate how our peels work to rejuvenate and enhance your skin.

Chemical Peel Ingredients

Shikimic Acid

Known for its antimicrobial properties, shikimic acid helps to reduce acne-causing bacteria on the skin.

Azelaic Acid

Azelaic acid reduces inflammation and lightens hyperpigmentation, making it effective in treating acne and evening out skin tone.

Salicylic Acid

A beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that penetrates deeply into the pores to dissolve excess oils and dead skin cells, salicylic acid is key in managing oily skin and preventing acne.

Pyruvic Acid

This alpha-keto acid promotes collagen and elastin production, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Succinic Acid

Known for its antioxidant properties, succinic acid helps fight free radical damage and improve skin texture.

Ferulic Acid

Ferulic acid is an antioxidant that enhances the stability and efficacy of other antioxidants. It is effective in reducing the appearance of dark spots and signs of ageing.

Arbutin

A natural skin brightener, arbutin helps to fade dark spots and prevent the formation of new pigmentation.

Kojic Acid

This acid inhibits the production of melanin, addressing hyperpigmentation and evening-out skin tone.

Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C)

Ascorbic acid is a powerful antioxidant that promotes collagen production and brightens the skin.

Phytic Acid

With its exfoliating and antioxidant properties, phytic acid helps reduce acne and lighten dark spots.
